Here’s an unlikely formula for success… love… do good… bless and pray… not for the ones you like or who like you… but the ones who are most against you. Jesus said it’s easy to love the ones that love you. But a follower of Jesus goes beyond that and loves the least, the last, the lost and the forgotten. As a pastor, one of the occupational hazards are sheep that bite. Sheep that bite are usually wounded in some way. Sheep who are in pain attack and it rarely has anything to do with what you do or don’t do. When sheep attack it usually is indicative of a deeper issue in their heart. Here’s the key to remember… they may act like an enemy, they may curse you, they may not like you or hang around you only to use you for their personal gain… but remember they are wounded sheep. Jesus wants to heal them… so love, do good, bless and pray for them.
“But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.Luke 6:27-28 NKJV
