I’m afraid to say that church culture has forgotten one of the fundamental truths of scripture… the power of the gospel.  In our efforts to become culturally relevant, we have become powerless.  We can create crowds, but not followers of Jesus?  Even the gospel we preach is merely focused on being forgiven and going to heaven.  But is that the gospel that Paul preached?  Recently I decided to read it for myself in 1 Corinthians 15:14.  Paul preached that Jesus died, was buried, rose again on the third day and appeared to many.  The message was simple… Jesus is ALIVE!  And if Jesus is ALIVE then every person must choose… do I follow Jesus or do I reject Jesus?  If Jesus is ALIVE then I will be compelled to let everyone know because Jesus rose from the dead!  What a miracle!  If Jesus is ALIVE then I must love like Jesus loves, forgive like Jesus forgives, minister like Jesus ministers.  It’s a game changer.  It doesn’t matter how long you’ve walked with the Lord, do you believe Jesus is ALIVE and if you do does your life reflect that?  Think about this reality today. Jesus is ALIVE!
