One of the values that has been lost in our modern age is that of unity. We have replaced it with a utilitarian form of community that says… you stay in your camp and I’ll stay in my camp. I’m sure we’ll see each other in heaven, but while we are on earth we’ll just politely stay away from each other. Unfortunately, this even happens within denominational tribes or church “affiliations.” I know many pastors who have been on the receiving end of false accusations and slanderous comments that attempt to diminish the work of God or cast doubt on a community of God’s people. This breaks the heart of God. God desires that nothing divides us from one another. We need to remember that our brother is not our enemy. Our brother is our brother. We have a common enemy and our divisiveness plays into His agenda. Jesus is Alive. Let’s honor Him by speaking well of each other and working in unity to win this world for Jesus.
Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
