The world sees love in terms of sentimentality and emotion. It’s something you can fall into and fall out of. In fact, many marriages end because the husband or wife (who pledged til death do us part) falls out of love and finds someone else they are in love with. It’s selfish and self centered. God defines love in terms of selfless giving. It’s laying down my life for my friend. Imagine what our relationships would look like if we laid down our lives for each other and gave to each other selflessly. The greatest example is Jesus dying on the cross for you and for me. Paying the death penalty I should have paid. It should have been me on the cross, but Jesus loved me so much that He willingly laid down His life for me… the one He calls friend. Let this love be what you are known for. Let your life be a reflection of God’s self-sacrificing love and watch God do mighty things in your relationships.
Roxie and I love you!!!
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
John 15:13 NKJV
