Do you realize that Jesus is with you every moment of every day? Or do you live as if you’re all alone in this world and you’ve just got to do the best you can with what you’ve got? The Bible tells us that we are different. We are special. We have been personally selected for relationship with Jesus and the effect of that relationship in our life is rest. In the original language it literally means I will cause you to rest.
We all face giants in our life. We all face our own private Goliaths. If you believe you’re on your own, then you will be filled with anxiety, fear, self doubt or insecurity. But how comforting it is to know that you are not alone. That Jesus is with you and He has incredible strength, courage, power and confidence. He’s not struggling with indecision or fear. He is at rest and His Presence causes us to be at rest.
You may be saying to yourself that’s all great, but how do I access God’s Presence? What if I told you that it’s easy to be in God’s Presence? What if I told you that you have an access point to God’s Presence? Well, it’s true. It’s called Worship. Worship is the access point to God’s Presence. The Bible tells us that God inhabits the praises of His people. The Bible tells us that when we draw near to God He draws near to us. How do we do that? Through worship. I want to encourage you to do something. The next time you feel overwhelmed, discouraged, anxious, insecure, fearful or powerless take a moment and worship the Lord. Cultivate a sense of His Presence through praise and watch God cause you to rest.
